My name is Fabrizio Chavez, a steadfast student working towards setting up my future career dreams. My goal is to pursue a career in cognitive neuroscience and specialize in aspects realted to language. I want my contribution to not only ameliorate but also change the field. I strongly believe that it is integral for the field as a whole that new instrumentation is developed as the current ones, such as fMRI, were not specifically developed to study the mechanisms of "the mind". The field is, without a doubt, of interdiciplinary nature and with that in mind I have acquired experience and familiarity with a plethora of instruments in varied fields extending from neuroscience to linguistics and psychology.
I chose intimate partner violence and gender roles as a research topic because it explores a community's culture which also directly relates to their development of language and other cognitive factors that might be unique to a group of people. |
I leave Sisyphus at the foot of the mountain. One always finds one's burden again. But Sisyphus teaches the higher fidelity that negates the gods and raises rocks. He too concludes that all is well. This universe henceforth without a master seems to him neither sterile nor futile. Each atom of that stone, each mineral flake of that night-filled mountain, in itself, forms a world. The struggle itself toward the heights is enough to fill a man's heart. One must imagine Sisyphus happy" |
